Margaret Rhasoda Varga: The ten cosmic powers (Mahavidyas)
Introduction
In the following, I will present the ten highest feminine powers of the Absolute (God) using Hindu tantric teachings and how they relate to Buddhist, Taoist and Christian teachings. The feminine principle is the embodiment of force, and the mover of power is the masculine principle. The two are essentially one. I have used the books of enlightened yogis, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist and Christian scriptures, and my own inner experiences to compile the following.
The texts of the mantras, the colors of the yantras, the interpretations of the yantras, and the alignments of the philosophical paths are my own meditative creations and insights. Those who use the mantras and yantras I have published with understanding and living through, have a chance to invoke the grace of the goddesses and the use of their powers. Each aspect has a sound or series of sounds associated with it, which are not described here. When the connection is established between the goddess and the practitioner, the sound-mantra is involuntarily sounded within, confirming the existence of the connection.
Although my detailed teachings are available to students of the UCC yoga school, those which are presented here even in this form provide a practical guide to understanding the world around us and within it, ourselves.
