Treasure
The treasure that is in your heart

I continued my usual meditative walk along the banks of the Danube. I was meditating on how to continue my spiritual activity, if at all? When one breaks a new way, when one breaks with tradition and create a new system of thinking, one always has to face the fact that others don't understand, don't believe or ignore it; even after personal teaching, the message doesn't always get through. In fact, even those who think they understand it do not grasp its meaning and significance.

One invests time and energy in disciples and wants to leave one's system to them, but they want to try something else, think of something else as a task, and leave the path one started to build together. It is not a unique case, they have freedom. Even though I know that it will be an extra round for them, I have to let them do it, because they have not yet arrived to me, they are still missing some recognition.

Across from me came a grandmother with three children, 4, 6, 8 years old, on their way home from the playground. I exchanged a second of eye contact with the children without thought, without words, without a smile, and continued on my way. I had passed them by a good ten meters when I became aware of someone running after me.

I turned around. He was the youngest child, and he said: 'I'm giving my treasure to auntie!' He pushed something from his little hand into mine, a folded autumn leaf, which was cleverly knotted with the leaf stem, and he run on, back to his grandmother.

I unwrapped it; a Danube pebble was inside. I said half-aloud, 'I will remember you child, because you entrusted me with your treasure. I will look for you from the spirit world when you grow up, for I know that you are waiting for me. You entrusted to me what others were unable to do; your greatest treasure, the gemstone, the atman.'

FAQ
What does it mean to give up the ego?
First, the realization that one is not identical with any of the layers of the ego listed above. But if we are not identical with them, who are we? Total surrender of ego occurs when the level of self-identification and awareness reaches the level of Atma (perfect spirit). Then the being says to himself, I am one with the perfect spirit (Atma) or I am one with God.
Surrender of ego cannot occur until the level of consciousness has reached the level of perfect spirit. If for whatever reason (initiation, energetic accident, etc.) it happens before, the human being, lacking the ability to self-identification, will suffer psychiatric disorders, in extreme cases going insane. ...
